Cultivation of Innovator in 2010 has strongly reduced the Pa population. The Ro population, however, has increased. Agria, however, is a tolerant cultivar and does not suffer strongly from this infestation (less than 1% damage). And, in addition, Agria is resistant to Ro and will therefore strongly reduce this population. The Pa population will increase again because Agria only has a very low resistance to Pa3. Because Innovator strongly reduced the Pa population, there are few nematodes left for this reproduction in 2014; this means that there will be no strong population build-up of Pa. This means that there will hardly be damage in Bintje in 2018 (0.1%).
